Military Spouse Reciprocity
Military families move a lot. Families have to uproot their lives to follow their military family member. If the spouse is in a career that requires a license then it is very difficult to take that career to another state. States often do not recognize other state’s licenses.
We want to make California a welcoming state for the military and their families. The Federal Government is also interested in making state reciprocity a reality.
Here is a list of bills that are addressing this issue:
- AB 1904 (Block-2012) — Expedited Licensure for Military Spouses
- AB 186 (Maienschein-2014) — Temporary Licenses for Military Spouses
- AB 186 (Maienschein-2014) — Temporary Licenses for Military Spouses
- AB 226 (Cervantes-2017) — Expediting the Teacher Credential Review Process
- SB 1080 (Roth-2018) — Military Spouse Licensing for Ride-Sharing Platforms
