Great Plates Delivered – California Meal Program for Seniors

Attention All Restaurants

Governor Gavin Newsom announced the launch of the Great Plates Delivered program, The program is designed to support adults 65 and older plus adults 60-64 who are at high risk from COVID-19, in staying home and staying healthy by delivering three nutritious meals a day and also provide essential economic stimulus to local businesses and workers struggling to stay afloat during the COVID crisis.

Los Angeles County is excited to be able to serve as the “Local Administrator” for this important program to assist those in need of home-delivered meals and to help get our restaurant community back to work.

Participating restaurants will be selected by the County using a variety of criteria, including the ability to:

(1) fulfill meal requests;

(2) prepare nutritious, and culturally-appropriate meals; and

(3) source ingredients locally.

LA County is ramping up to quickly deliver the benefits of this program to the public via the LA County Department of Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS). We will provide additional information, including a launch date, as soon as possible.
