Subject: Results from Directed Traffic Enforcement in Redondo Beach

On February 20, 2019, from 7-10 am and on March 16, 2019, from 4-9 pm, Redondo Beach Police Motor Officers enforced traffic violations on Aviation Bl in an effort to help reduce traffic collisions in the area due to two fatal collisions in January. Officers wrote 43 citations for Primary Collision Factors. Additionally, officers deployed an electronic safety message board and contacted local business in the area to help educate the community.

On March 26, 2019, from 10:30am–1:30pm South Bay Police Agencies from Torrance PD, Hawthorne PD, El Segundo PD, and Manhattan PD teamed up with Redondo Beach PD to enforce traffic violations throughout the City. Officers wrote 57 citations and gave 17 warnings in the time frame. All in an effort to reduce traffic collisions and change driver’s behavior. The Redondo Beach Police Department wants to encourage drivers to slow down, stop at stop signs, look for pedestrians, and drive free of distractions.
