Despite the State of California announcement, Los Angeles County will not begin vaccinating people age 65 and older until they complete vaccinations for healthcare workers and receive more vaccine from the state for this new priority group.
LA County COVID-19 Vaccine – LA County Department of Public Health
I have not seen an appointment sign up on any site yet. As soon as appointment sign ups are available, I will send out the link to all of you. If you see it first, please let me know! Laura.Emdee@Redondo.org
Also, please check with your doctor. Many of the large health organizations are also distributing the vaccines.
At the January 12 Council Meeting, we approved an MOU (Memoranda of Understanding) allowing LA County to set up an MPOD (Mobile Point of Distribution) for the vaccines at the RB Performing Art Center. There were some details to clear up such as traffic management and personnel needed to administer the vaccine but we should be able to work them out soon.
The LA County Public Health Department is managing the vaccination roll out, as soon as I know more, I will send the word.
