A Bridge Home Success Stories

A Bridge Home – Watts

As the Watts A Bridge Home approaches its one-year anniversary the Salvation Army team has continued to work throughout the pandemic and has successfully transitioned 20 people from homelessness to permanent housing with another four signing leases and moving out tomorrow! Additionally, in the past week, three clients have gained employment at UPS! The entire team has done an amazing job amidst a pandemic to assist clients with everything from employment to securing housing.

A Bridge Home – San Pedro

The Harbor Interfaith Team at the San Pedro A Bridge Home would like to congratulate Michelle H. for obtaining a new job at ClosetWorld doing telemarketing and data entry! Michelle joined the company on October 15th but she has already proven herself to be an amazing asset to the ClosetWorld team. During her first week on the job, Michelle transacted thirty-three sales and was honored as the “Employee of the Week” for her excellence in customer engagement and service. For other residents looking for a job, Michelle suggests that they look in the job folders at the resource center for open positions. “I’m very grateful to the ABH Staff for providing us with great resources, and I hope to serve as some sort of motivation to others,” Michelle said. “I hope they see me and believe they can do it too.” The resource center is located in the ABH tent lobby and contains an abundance of information related to housing, job opportunities, and health services. Congratulations Michelle!

Thank You to the 99 Cents Only Stores!

Thank you to the 99 Cents Only Stores for making a significant donation to the San Pedro A Bridge Home! This is the second donation they have made with the first to Wilmington A Bridge Home. The 99 Cents Only Stores has made a corporate commitment to giving back to the most vulnerable communities and they have continued to fulfill that commitment in our neighborhoods. Thank you to our retired LAPD Sergeant Plows who made this partnership possible!
